My name is John Nofs. I was born and raised in the land of heat and cactus that is Tucson Arizona. I work with a mix of both digital and analog forms of the photographic medium; as well as video.
For me photography is not just about capturing what is in front of the camera, but instead is about using the camera to generate a space for those who view the image that is more than a mere documentation of the real world. To me it is about creating a space that is more than what it actually is, making a gestalt environment of sorts that displaces the viewer for a moment into a world that is somehow more real than reality itself.
